HEALTH & fitNESS
In search of optimal physical performance in soccer, I began to explore strategies that would help me reach my highest potential. While on this pursuit, I gained a whole new perspective about the meaning of health and fitness. I realized it’s not about achieving short-term results as much as developing longevity. I’m not only interested in living as long as I can, but more importantly, in the quality of the years I have left to live.
Consuming audio, video, and written content created by experts and thought leaders on health and fitness, I have learned that attaining a higher quality of overall health is complex and dependent on multiple factors. Becoming interested and absorbing as much valuable information on the subject led me to begin experimenting with building new habits. Over time this reaped significant improvements in my health and transformed the way I approach day-to-day life.
Over the last five plus years, through considerable trial and error, I have been able to create a foundation of behaviors focused on movement, nutrition, mindset, recovery and connection. Making daily decisions based on these five factors of health is the major theme discussed in a podcast called Chasing Excellence, and having resonated with it sparked me to put it into practice to maintain a healthier lifestyle and boost my well-being. In addition, though simplicity isn’t always what’s easiest, I found it to be essential in the development of sustainable habits.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were brought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
